When I was at North Shore airfield last Tuesday afternoon, a fairly grunty sounding aircraft joined overhead and landed on Runway 03. The conditions weren't very good for a photo but I fired one off anyway:
It turned out to be the Piper PA 28RT- 201T Turbo Lance Arrow IV ZK-MJY. It is now in a new colour scheme and is North Shore based, having been registered to a local owner since December 2023.
It was built 1979 as N2820G and exported Australia November 1980 as VH-MJY making an easy transition to ZK-MJY in March 1997 with Jada Investments of Tauranga. It then went to I W Jones of Otaki in April 2022 before coming to North Shore.
Small correction - that is a Turbo Arrow IV, not a Lance. The Lance is the bigger 6 seater.
