Another straight tail 172.

Another old straight tail.
A note and a pic from Ben at Wilderness Wings of Hokitika.
"Cessna 172 ZK-REV at Hoki this morning, interesting old aircraft".
1957 was a good year for Cessna 172 Skyhawks – they still had the Continental O-300A engines and manual operated flaps.
Cessna 172 Skyhawk ZK-REV2 (c/n 29853) is just such a machine, being manufactured, and briefly listed, in the USA as N8053B before appearing on the Australian register as VH-REG on 16-07-1957 for Rucklands Station Pty Ltd. It then went to B G Anderson of Moorooka, Queensland and at an unknown date it moved to Lynch and Keft Pty Ltd at Warialda, NSW and by 09-12-1974 it was in the care of Leslie Keft at Warialda. On 22-11-2002 it was listed to Eric Keft just around the corner at Karuah, NSW.
Its VH cancellation occurred on the same day it was listed in NZ, ie 02-05-2006 to Trevor Hall at Te Awamutu.
It still wears its old Lynch and Keft Contractors script and carries the inscription "Wayebyn Too" on the forward fuselage.
Nice.
