A Tauranga selection # 2

 "Frenesi" (Free and Easy) is the Titan T51 Mustang ZK-MJD2 (c/n M05XXX50HK0078) of Michael Dean. It is powered with a 2.7L Suzuki engine.
Check out :-
 One of the Air Gisborne Grumman American AA-5A Cheetah aircraft was on site. ZK-MRR is c/n AA5A-0712. This had some five owners in Australia from April 1979 before flying across the Ditch into Tauranga on 13-03-1995.
It was registered to Air Gisborne on 03-04-1995 and has been with them since.
 Whakatane based Cessna 182R Skylane ZK-OFC (c/n 18268230) was initially listed to the BEB Syndicate of Ohope on 27-07-2005 and joined Air Discovery on 04-02-2006 before transferring to East Bay Aviation on 29-07-2009.
An aircraft that we don't see or hear much about is the Piper PA-25-180 Pawnee ZK-PNE (c/n 694) of the Tauranga Gliding Club - to whom it was registered on 09-09-2004. It carries the name Myrtle on the engine cowl and below the cockpit the inscription "In memory of John Borman".
Grumman TBF-1 Avenger NZ2505 (c/n 5220) is currently "on loan"  to Classic Flyers from GAPS of Gisborne.

  1. John Borman was a tow pilot for the Tauranga Gliding Club and he built the Seawind 3000 Amphibian ZK-SWT. Tragically he was killed in ZK-SWT on Lake Taupo in 2005.
