From the shoe box. Beaver ZK-CPS.

I noticed today that DHC-2 Beaver ZK-AZB has re-appeared on our register today for Hallett Griffin. Watch out for it at the Lawson Field reunion at Gisborne over the weekend of 23 to 25-10-2010.

Yesterday I dug these two olde colour slides out of the dreaded shoe box and thought I may as well share them with you.

De Havilland DHC-2 Beaver , c/n 1609 , was registered to Fieldair Ltd of Gisborne on 31-01-1966. First flown at Wellington on 03-12-1966. It had some excitement on 28-10-1972 at Rakauroa (see the above link & click on CPS down the left hand side). I believe it was named "Captain Pugwash" in its earlier days.
Above in its early scheme on 23-09-1969.
Below on 03-10-1973.
Both at Masterton.
Sadly it was involved in a fatal accident at Nikau on 24-11-1976.
