When I was at Ardmore yesterday the amphibious Beaver was pushed out of its hangar. The Beaver was impressive but the other aircraft in the hangar were pretty impressive too!
You need quite a bit of elevation to get decent photos of these aircraft and fortunately there was a conveniently placed ladder right there. So here are the views from the top.

North American T 28B Trojan ZK-TGN.
North American F 51D Mustang ZK-TAF.
And to provide an East/West balance, Nanchang CJ 6 ZK-FRU.
That's an impressive hangarful.
F 47D, Sir Minty?
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm keen to know more about the Bell 47J in the background of TAF's picture. Something different from the norm!
Whoops! Changed now. I didn't take much notice of the Bell 47J but it is very likely to be ZK-ICN. Type in Bell 47J in the search box at the top left and hit search, and it will take you to all posts on Bell 47Js, from which you can see the post that Mike Condon did on ZK-ICN in January 2015 with details of the history.
ReplyDeleteAre these plans made in 2015? or whey been restored?
ReplyDeleteThe spinner on the T-28 is unusual -- any clues as to origin?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up re the 47J post! Looks like I have some reading to do.
ReplyDeleteAnon - the T-28 itself is unusual, it's a "T-28G" with an R-2000 up front as related here: http://nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2015/03/north-american-t-28b-trojan-zk-tgn.html I'm not sure what the spinner came from.
