This Achim Engels built Fokker D VIII was built in Germany and was finished by The Australian Vintage Aircraft Society (TAVAS) who registered it VH-EIV. When TAVAS wound up in 2022 three of their aircraft were relocated to Omaka, being a Fokker E III, a Fokker D VIII and a Fokker D VII - all built by Achim Engels. We have seen the E III out having engine runs but I understand that it is not registered yet. And today the D VIII had its first engine runs fitted with a a Classic Aero Machinists (CAMS) built Gnome rotary engine. Thanks to Tony Wytenburg of CAMS we have a photo of it:
The Fokker D VIII Replica (c/n 001) was registered ZK-FMT2 on 23/1/25 to the NZ Aviation Museum of Blenheim. It is a sister ship to the two TVAL Fokker D VIII replicas.
