Recent Sightings - 10 August

Recently returned from seven year stint flying for Blue Air as YR-BAC, Boeing 737-377 ZK-SLA has returned to the registration it held from November 2003 until August 2005 with Airwork Flight Operations as at 07 August 2012.

It will be interesting to see what this passenger configured airliner ends up doing next!  Perhaps staying in NZ for charter under the Inflite banner?

Bell 214 ZK-HAU departed from Ardmore 10 August and headed to Tauranga.  The other McDermott machine, N1073W, has also been resident at Ardmore but was not to be seen today.
Incidentally, both ZK-HAU and N1073W wear the Helitak number 335, this being the serial number for reference during the Australian fire fighting season.

Eurocopter EC120 ZK-HTV of Helitranz based at Rosedale Road, North Shore, dropped into the Eurocopter agency at Ardmore 10 August.

Cessna 177B ZK-ALI departed for a local flight out over the Hauraki Gulf towards the Coromandel.

And a couple of Air Force departures!  Slingsby Firefly ZK-WAE wearing its recently applied US Air Force scheme and CT4A Airtrainer ZK-CTA in its Royal Australian Air Force markings.  The last time I observed ZK-CTA it had the registration in large letters on top of the tail minus the ZK.  This has been altered somewhat as seen in the photo below.

  1. Since it has been repainted, WAE has done more flying than it did for all of last year. Amazing what a difference a spruce up can make!
