Zac reporting from Omaka

Zac Yates visited Omaka on Saturday and here we have a small selection of his photographs.
Pitts S-2B Special ZK-KHM c/n 5090 entered the NZ Civil Aircraft Register on 25-11-1996, being ex N86TW.
It was re-registered as ZK-STX on 22-01-2010.
By September of 2017 is was listed with The flying Saucer Partnership of Blenheim and was subjected to a major re-work.
Title changed to Fighter pilot Ltd from 15-09-2020 and is seen above in its new paint scheme.
Both ZK-KHM and ZK-STX have been mentioned in more depth on this site previously
See HERE

ZK-COX2 c/n 22-3936 was built as a Piper PA-22-150 TriPacer back in early 1956 and registered in the USA as N4785A.
After a multitude of US owners it was registered in New Zealand as ZK-COX2 with Flogger Flying Partnership of Blenheim.
It was containered into JEM Aviation Ltd at Omaka on 21-10-2016 and first flew at Omaka on 01-12-2016.

The Piper PA-18-95 Super Cub ZK-BQX c/n 18-5764 came factory new to Airwork (NZ) Ltd of Christchurch to be registered on 07-05-1957 for delivery to the Marlborough Aero Club on 02-07-1957.
It appears to have spent all of its career in the Central NZ area returning to Omaka for the Zac Dillon and Ed Hazlett Partnership from 18-09-2020.

The De Havilland Canada DHC-1A-1 ZK-ARM c/n 60 was  built in the earlier part of 1949 and served in India as VT-CXM with the Civil Air Training Centre at Allahabad until being withdrawn from use in 1973.
It was imported along with (I think) four others and was sold in February 1995 to Athol Brown of Palmerston North and first flew there on 04-02-1999.
It was re-listed/re-named to Cloud Air Ltd of Palmerston North on 24-05-2002 and then to F T Koenders, still of PN, from 28-10-2018.
I noted it for sale on TradeMe in July of 2022 with a sale to Patchett Ag-Air 2015 Ltd Ltd of Omaka from 22-07-2022.
Nice.

ZK-BQX was with Kapiti Districts Aero Club (but with Private Owners) for many years. It eventually ran out of hours on the engine and the owners didn't want to spend the money on it. Glad to see it's in tip top shape and flying.
    Nice work Zac!
