Rangiora on Saturday

On this chilly winter Saturday afternoon Rangiora was reasonably active.

On the ground we had the Australian Aviation Works Karatoo J6C ZK-KTO c/n J6 673P being returned to its hangar after having an ADSB fitted.

Further along the hangar row the Druine D.31 Turbulent U/L ZK-CAC c/n PFA/506 was out from hibernation for an engine run.

Returning from a short local flight was the Alpi Aviation Pioneer 300 ZK-RMV c/n 36 which had been with the RMV Syndicate of Kaiapoi since 13-03-2021.

  1. Great to see Druine Turbulent ZK-CAC "alive and well". This was one of the first amateur aircraft constructed in NZ after the British PFA were adopted and it had its beginnings in the late 1950s/early 1960s period
