Last week I headed off to Wellington again. I have the trip down to a nice schedule now and after arriving around noon on the 380 bus I have time to catch the action before my flight leaves at around 3 pm. This gives plenty of time to head up to the carpark building near the domestic terminal to see what comes and goes, and here is a selection of those comings and goings over a 25 minute period in the early afternoon: (These are not in time order and there were 14 movements over the 25 minute period).
Of most interest to me was the arrival of Air New Zealand's latest Airbus A 321 NEO ZK-NNE2 (c/n 8799) which was registered on 1/5/19. Note the bigger engines.
Air New Zealand's domestic Airbus A 320 ZK-OXE on take off. If you waited around for a day I reckon you could see just about all of their domestic fleet come and go.
And Jetstar's regular colour scheme VH-VGA took off for points South.
A stranger was Malindo Air's Boeing 737-800 9M-LNW (Malaysian registered) which I understand is being operated by Samoa Airways while their own 737 MAX 9 is grounded
Thai Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner HS-TWB departed for Bangkok. After the succession of Airbus A 320s and Boeing 737s, it is noticeably much bigger.
