Three photos taken at Drury by Andy Heap on the occasion of the Auckland Gliding Club's recent 80th birthday open day on 30-04-2011. Above is the EoN (Elliotts of Newbury) Olympia 2a ZK-GAA , c/n EON/091. This was pulled out of its basement this week, for the first time in 28 years. This glider first flew in NZ on 15-02-1950
A triple tow under way. Piper Pawnee ZK-CEB with the ASK21 ZK-GAK, PW5 ZK-GXF and the Astir ZK-GNO on behind.
Another EoN product was the EoN Baby. ZK-GAF c/n EoN/B/002 was flown to NZ from the UK in an RNZAA Bristol Freighter and first flew from Mangere on 14-01-1953. It had originally flown in the UK on 20-03-1949.
Photos kindly forwarded by Andy Heap.
