Question time # 85 RERUN

Question is rerun from a couple of days ago. No answer has been the stern reply to date.
No body want a chocolate fish then !# ?

What have we got here ?
What purpose does it serve ?
How many would you expect to find on this type/model of aircraft ?

    The complete round object is only about 9cm across.

    Only aircraft built for this particular (as yet unresolved) purpose have these "Things".

    The number can vary from model to model, and certainly from manufacturer to manufacturer.
