New Years Day at NZRT

Bargeldo1 called in briefly at Rangiora today.
Here is a brief report.
Not often seen out in the daylight was the Druine D.31 Turbulent ZK-CAC (c/n PFA/506) belonging to Peter Small. This was first noted on our register on 04-05-1961.
Its history can be seen on an earlier post at :-
From below the leading edge slots are easily seen. (click on pic).
Another seldom seen outside aircraft is the Aero Gare Sea Hawk ZK-SEA (c/n AAACA/175)
It was the object of Question Time # 55. See:-
The Busby Mustang II ZK-CAR (c/n 1713) got a mention back in 2009 at :-
Still officially listed to Jon Farmer; its builder, in Auckland is the Morgan Aero Works Cheetah ZK-CCB2 (c/n MA17). Jon had advertised it for sale with about twenty five flying hours up earlier last year.
It has been at Rangiora since July of last year.

Piper PA-28-180F Cherokee ZK-DEI (c/n 28-7105206) has been based in the South Island since arriving here in late 1971.
It was assembled by Airwork at Christchurch for the Otago Aero Club and delivered to them on 10-12-1971.
Next in line was W E Dalziell of Lawrence in September of 1982.
It replaced his Cherokee 140 ZK-CUW.
Five owners later we see it with DEI Syndicate (Meredith Lowe) of Christchurch.
