On a quick trip around Auckland and North Shore this afternoon I managed to drop into a couple of heliports.
At Mechanics Bay it was pretty quiet with only a Bell 206-L Longranger parked up outside. (Thankfully the Westpac Rescue Helicopter ZK-HKZ3 was unemployed in its hangar).
ZK-IRL2 is owned by Helitrips Ltd of Auckland, and while I was there it left on a helitrip.
Then just up the Northern Motorway at Rosedale, nearly the entire Heletranz fleet was at their heliport. Photo'd above is Eurocopter EC 120B ZK-HTV3.
And Robinson R 44 II ZK-IHE2 with ZK-HTV3 , Bell 427 ZK-IRP and Squirrell AS 350B2 ZK-HST3 in the background. Their other Squirrell AS 355F2 ZK-HFS4 was in the hangar, which is being extended.
Heletranz have one other helicopter, which I had photo'd on an earlier visit:
Which is Robinson R 44 II ZK-INP.
There isn't much commonality in the fleet! (or in the colour schemes).
