Hi there Simon.
ReplyDeleteIt is none other than Cessna A185F Skywagon ZK-FMA c/n A185F-03513.
Thanks Blue Bus
ReplyDeleteSaw that one at WOW2011 at Masterton
with lots of other 180s/185s
Is there any other a/c based at Makarora ??
Last time I was in there I spied FMA. In the back corner of the hangar was an all yellow Piper Cub under covers (couldn't see the registration).
ReplyDeleteCessna 206 ZK-JMS was at the fence alongside the hiway, and Hughes ZK-IHH was on the pad at the southern end of the strip.
Southern Alps Air also operate the Cessna 207 ZK-FQY.
Probably others as well.
Rgdz
ZK-FMA did not make Masterton the yellow C185 would have been ZK-DLY or SME
ReplyDeleteThe NZ 180 185 group have their own website at the URL below
http://www.skywagons.net/index.html
ZK-DLY was in the 180/185 line up at Masterton, and ZK-SME was tucked away in its hangar at Masterton (I did not see it outside during the weekend).
ReplyDeleteOops I must have seen FMA somewhere else
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info Blue Bus
I have seen the yellow cub also but not been able to identify it
Many Thanks
Simon

I know that ZK-BPA is a yellow Cub, and fits in well, but I could see no markings on this one because of the covers. & I don't poke about in somebodies private hangar without their ok.
ReplyDeleteBluebus
BPA's owner lives at Haast
