After being hangared at Whitianga airfield for some years the acquisition of Super Cub ZK-BSK by new Whitianga syndicate owners has seen it return to flying. Originally built in November 1960 it first flew at Ardmore in March 1961 before delivery to the Wellington Aero Club. Today it flew down to Pauanui airfield for coffee with 6 other Whitianga resident aircraft.

I was on Wellington airport the day ZK-BSK arrived from Ardmore. It was painted the usual white with green trim, a departure from the common red or occasional blue trim. Does anyone know how many cubs with green trim were imported?
ReplyDeleteHow amazing to see BSK again after all these years. I had my first ever flying lesson in that aircraft in 1965 at the Wellington Aero Club with Bill Coulter in the back seat!
