Steadfast ZK-YOV

The Yakovlev Romania Yak-3U-R2000 ZK-YOV (c/n 001-3/2005) is pretty close to flying at Omaka.

Originally listed as manufactured by Avioane- Cariova SA and registered in the US as N46463 with an airworthiness date of 11 October 2005 to Bill Whiteside of California.

It was exported to Australia to become VH-YOV on 24 December 2013 with Eastern Fighters Pty Ltd of Perth, West Australia, with an ownership change on 21 October 2015 to Team Steadfast Pty Ltd of Kelvin Grove, Queensland.

Purchased by Mark O'Sullivan it was cancelled from the Australian register on 23 August for shipment to NZ where it became ZK-YOV on 9 October 2019.

I caught up with 'Steadfast' at Omaka on Thursday where it now pretty much just awaits it propeller.

Steadfast, as I am sure you are all aware, was a major attraction at Yealands Classic Fighters at Omaka in April of 2017.
