Pelorus Air

As we are in the depths of winter, I thought it would be good to be reminded of summer days that we will again enjoy later in the year (surely the flyin and airshow season can't be that bad again!)

So a look at the Pelorus Air Facebook page provided just the tonic.  Pelorus Air is a small locally owned operator that provides scenic flights around the Marlborough Sounds and further afield from its base at Koromiko, near Picton.  This must be some of the most scenic flying there is, as in the following images taken on approach to the company's airstrip at Port Gore:

Cessna U 206G ZK-ENT (c/n U2063667)

Cessna A185F ZK-PRM (c/n 18504414)

and the classic straight tail Cessna 172 ZK-MGR (c/n 28108), the oldest 172 in New Zealand.

The Port Gore airstrip from the air - no going around!

And a shot of the fleet in their new hangar at Koromiko.

Thanks very much to Pelorus Air for the use of the photos.

  1. The new cover photo of the 185 is a classic shot of a great aircraft.
