In the visiting aircraft park at Masterton were three Piper PA-18 Cubs.
The 160hp powered Cub ZK-BOY (c/n 6172) has been rebuilt by the Darlington Drilling and Piling team.
Below is the earlier post we did on BOY.

Some recent ownership changes.
Piper PA-18A-150 Super Cub ZK-BOY , c/n 18-6172 , has found a new owner in Darlington Drilling & Piling Ltd of Paraparaumu from 12-07-2010. This Cub gained its CofA on 30-01-1958. By 1966 it was glider towing with the Hawkes Bay Gliding Club before moving into the deer recovery role in South Westland from about early 1968. The photo below shows it at Dunedin on 17-01-1975 whilst officially listed with Alpine Aviation Ltd. It still carried the S.W. Venison Packers title on the lower section of the cockpit door.
Are there any other photos of ZK-BOY lurking out there ?
If you have one and would care to share it with us - please send either to paulldj@xtra.co.nz or to Nigel at darlington.hm@xtra.co.nz . thanks.

Now back to Masterton.
Parked beside BOY was ZK-BQY (c/n 5769) listed to the ZK-CYU Syndicate of Auckland.
This Cub did its share of Aero Club duty - See earlier post at:-http://nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2009/03/cub-zk-bqy.html
It carries the name "Nola" on its engine cowl.
The third Cub out on the field was ZK-BPM (c/n 6380). This one has been on the go since doing ag work with J W R Frogley from about January of 1959. Some fourteen owners later it was listed to Air Hawkes Bay Ltd of Hastings. (I recall the days in the 60's when it was in a light yellow scheme and advertised a well known brand of peanut butter).
