Yesterday I swung by North Shore airfield and I was very pleased to see the new Tecnam P2010 Mk II ZK-TCN (c/n 306) outside and about to go for a demonstration flight. This is the first of type in New Zealand.
The Tecnam P2010 is a 4 seat GA aircraft that is a direct competitor to the latest Cessna 172 (the S model). It has a carbon fibre fuselage with metal wings and tailplane. and is badged as a Ptwentyten Mk II (you can click the photo twice to enlarge to see it). ZK-TCN is fitted with a 215 HP Lycoming IO 390 engine and a 3 blade constant speed propellor.
It has 3 pilot/passenger doors and a large luggage door as seen in this photo.
The North Island Tecnam agent Richard Milne pulling the P2010 out for start up. Richard told me that Tecnam has just surpassed Cessna for the number of light aircraft built in a year to be in second place behind Cirrus.
A very impressive and smooth aircraft showing the Tecnam family lineage.
I think its 215hp - helikiwi
