Last week we were driving up from Timaru to Christchurch, and popped in to Geraldine for lunch, as you do.
In the main street of Geraldine I found a Rangitata Military Musuem that has been set up by the local re-enactors. According to the fellow at the front desk, it has only been there since last November.
After paying my $10 entry I had a look around inside. An excellent collection of military vehicles, all which seem to be in operational condition.
But wait - that looks to be a 'thing with wings' hanging up in the ceiling!
Yes, it is . . .
It's the Airdrome Airplanes Fokker D-VI Replica ZK-TBF.
This microlight, a 75% scale replica, was registered to Graham Ritchie of Ashburton back in mid-2008 and then passed into the ownership of Greg Burt in September 2009.
It was active at Rangitata Island until cancelled as Withdrawn on 26 July 2021.
