Air China Boeing 737-89L B1761 At Wellington

Air China operates scheduled services into Auckland using heavy twin jets.  However last week's visit of Chinese Premier Li Qiang utilised a Boeing 737-800 may have been the first Air China 737 to have visited here (I am willing to be corrected by wiser heads):

Boeing 737-89L B1761 arrived in Wellington on 13 June.  I wonder how it is configured?  It later flew the Premier to Auckland and later onto Melbourne.  Thanks for the photo Jordan.

  1. They have sent 737 B-5342 to Wellington back in June 2010 and November 2014. I have been told this airframe has visited before, but don't recall it doing so, maybe before my time?

  2. This aircraft visited NZ during a similar visit in 2017…and I think previously Boeing 737-400s have been used for the same purpose

  3. Your info regarding the movements of B-1761 is incorrect. This aircraft was only used to fly the Chinese Premier and delegation from Auckland to Wellington and return. The aircraft arrived into Auckland from Cairns on June 11th and departed from Auckland to Cairns on June 15th. The Premier arrived into Auckland from Beijing aboard Air China Boeing 747-89L B-2480 on June 12th and departed aboard this same aircraft to Adelaide on June 15th.

    1. No photo but we were watching the 15 vehicle cavalcade taking the Chinese premier out to it before it departed along with the 737
