Something Else New at NZAA on 30-6-2023 - Air Chathams New Saabs

Not far away from the new Texel Air Boeing 737-800 freighter, Air Chathams had their two new newly registered Saab 340As freighters outside at their maintenance base:

ZK-CIW2 (c/n 340A-008) was registered on 21/6/23 and is ex VH-KDB.

And ZK-CIX3 (c/n 340A - 085) was registered on 9/6/23 and is ex VH-EKT.  Both aircraft were sourced from Pel Air Pty Ltd at Mascot and still wear their trim colours.

The first ZK-CIW and ZK-CIX were Pawnee 235s imported by Airwork back in 1965, but a Messerschmitt Me109G was registered ZK-CIX2 (ex D-FEHD) for a month in March/April 1996, and which was flown at Warbirds Over Wanaka 1996 by Mark Hanna.
