SAANZ Ashburton

This years SAANZ fly in was hosted by the Ashburton Aviation Museum and attracted an impressive number of LSA, vintage and other aircraft.    Of most interest was the 1941 vintage Piper J3L-65 Cub ZK-AND2.   This was imported from the US in 2018 and is registered to a Kaiapoi owner.

For something different the Cessna U206F ZK-DXC on amphibious floats flew down from Rangiora where it has been in residence since 2014.  It was originally imported new back in 1976.

Always good to see the Jodel D9 ZK-FRK was registered back in 1988 and has been with its current Ashburton owner since February 2020.

Not blogged here before is the Canadian Home Rotors Safari ZK-HLD5 which was imported from Australia and registered to its Christchurch owner in August 2019.

Our latest Karatoo J6C is ZK-KTW registered to its Rangiora owner in June 2020

And even more recent is Rans S-7 Courier ZK-SRB which was registered to East Canterbury Aviation of Temuka in December 2020.
