Noted on SH1 at Manakau north of Otaki is this Hughes 369HS.
The major component is that of ZK-HKK1 (c/n 860858S).
This was first listed with Dalhoff and King Aviation Ltd of Ardmore on 13-07-1977 before being transferred to Mountain Helicopters Ltd at Greymouth from 18-08-1977.
I have a note saying that it received slight damage on 15-11-1978 at Motu and then a few days later on 22-11-1978 it was damaged by a net at Taupo.
Marlborough Helicopters appear on the paper work from 30-10-1981 followed by Airwest Helicopters of Reefton from 03-02-1982.
Peter Bradley of Murupara took it on from 09-05-1984 only to have it damaged on 03-02-1985 about 40km east of Taupo in the Urewera National Park.
Its registration was cancelled on 09-03-1988.
It is now based outside The Deer Story Museum.
I've been wondering what happened to this machine.As I bought one of it tail rotor blades of trade me. that had been removed after an accident
