Sounds Air Pilatus PC 12s at Wellington and Taupo plus One

The Pilatus PC 12 has not enjoyed much market penetration in New Zealand in the past, but this has changed recently with Air New Zealand pulling out of Westport and other smaller regional towns, and also dropping their Wellington - Taupo link.

This has led to Sounds Air flying services between Wellington and Westport, and between Wellington and Taupo with three Pilatus PC 12/45 aircraft that have been purchased from the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Australia.  These are pressurised 9 seaters and have been refurbished with new engines and 5 bladed MT props, new interiors and some new avionics.

ZK-PLT (c/n 379) is the first of Sounds Air's PC 12s to be painted in the company colours.  The other two will be repainted during the year

ZK-PLS2 (c/n 363) on take off from Wellington on 12/2/16...

then and at Taupo on 20/2/16.

ZK-PLZ (c/n 445) also at Taupo on 20/2/16.

And to complete our current population of PC 12s, here is Instra Aviation of Wellsford's PC 12/47E ZK-TFL (c/n 1122) arriving at Wellington on 18/2/16.
