Two new to the register aircraft at Ardmore this afternoon 2-2-16








Piper J3C-65 Cub ZK-YLO msn 19046 seen at Ardmore this afternoon. This smart looking 1946 model Cub was registered on 28-1-16 to Ardmore Aviation Services Ltd at a Hong Kong Address. It is ex N923BC and was cancelled from the US Register as exported to New Zealand on 2-10-15

ZK-YIK  msn 9111311 which I believe is this countries mosr recent Yakovlev Yak- 52 photographed at Ardmore this afternoon. It was placed onto the ZK register on 26-1-16 and is registered to a Pauanui address. It is ex G-YAKV

    Just a little bit of information about ZK-YIK someone may find interesting. It has an inscription "Монгольский Арат" on its fuselage, which translates as "Mongolian Arat Squadron". It was a Soviet fighter squadron during WWII, sponsored by Mongolian people. English wiki has a short article about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongolian_Arat_squadron
