ZK-HLF at Garden City

 Bargeldo1 captured the Kawasaki BK117 B2 ZK-HLF2 (c/n 1070) at the Garden City Helicopters base at Christchurch yesterday 13-01-2015..

Above it is parked beyond the Garden City Helicopters Kawasaki BK117 B2 ZK-HJC3 (c/n 1061)

 ZK-HLF started life as JA6642 on 19-12-1990 with Asuka International before coming onto the NZ register as ZK-HZJ2 with Airwork (NZ) Ltd at Ardmore.

Following refurbishment it was sent away to become HS-SFC in Thailand from 18-04-1986.

It returned to the NZ register (if not NZ) as ZK-HZJ on 13-12-00 with Helicopter Leasing International Ltd - c/- Airwork (NZ) Ltd only to be cancelled on 22-12-2000 for its return to the Japanese register as JA6642 with Child at Tochigi Prefecture.

It popped up again on the NZ register as ZK-HLF with Airwork Holdings Ltd on 05-08-2003 and following an upgrade to the B2 model first flew as such at Ardmore on 13-12-2003.

It was delivered to Westpac on 16-01-2004 to become the Wellington based rescue helicopter.

It is seen here departing for the one hour forty minute return flight to Wellington.
