On my trip back to Auckland I called in to Napier airport where Ian Sowman was working on his Zenith Zodiac. He was very helpful and we were able to help him with some lifting that was easier with 2 people.
CH 601UL ZK-ZOD is fitted with a Subaru EA 81 engine with twin Bing carburettors and is approaching 200 flight hours.
Ian has also fitted large wheel spats to streamline the bigger than standard wheels. He says that they don't result in much improvement in speed but look better, and he also sent the above photo of the aircraft outside his hangar - thanks for the photo Ian.
