My final (productive) airport stop on my way back from Napier on 7/1/15 was Tokoroa. Normally I find the airfield deserted but I had arranged with Murray Belfield who had kindly agreed to come out and open up the hangar where his son's Jodel D 11 is kept.
ZK-KNB (c/n SP 2407) was the project that was originally started by Trevor Tollinson at Wairoa many years ago. Karl Belfield purchased the project and with assistance from his father and fellow Jodel D 11 builder Murray, completed the aircraft and registered it on 16/9/13. It has an O-200 engine and large tyres and Murray said it flies beautifully.
Also hangared at Tokoroa is James Lobet's unique Ganagobie Mousebird ZK-JLO. I have posted the deatils of this aircraft previously at www.nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2014/01/unique-james-lobet-ganagobie-of-new.html
Tail detail of the Ganagobie showing what a mousebird looks like (click on the photo to enlarge it).
And we needed to push Bantam B 22S ZK-MTX out of the han gar to get the Jodel Out. It is owned by a Reporoa owner.
