My Friday pie chase.

A brilliant gusty north-westerly day in Christchurch today.
Heli Maintenance is always worth a look see.
Sure enough - parked out in the sunshine was the MD 500N NOTAR ZK-IDB.
Now a quick look at the CAA web site tells us :-
"Error Registration Mark "idb" does not exist!"
ZK-IDB is c/n LN022 which makes it ex OY-HEP.
It was built as N52113 in May 1992 then became N520QP, followed by VR-CPD, G-NOTA and then OY-HEP in March of 1995.
Also out in the UV's was the MDHI 369E ZK-HGF7 (c/n 0561E) for Alister Yeoman of Ashburton.
This one was poked out by MD as N70551 in July of 2001 before joining the City of Oklahoma City Police Department in early 2003.
Around the back of the ANZES hangar was the Boeing 737-3U3 3K2 ZK-NGK (c/n 28742 26318) or parts there of.
There are a heap of other pics of NGK's demise on blog. Just enter NGK in the search box towards the top left of the screen.

Whilst ripping down Pound Road I noted this aircraft on finals for 02 with a healthy cross wind from the NW. A desperation shot shows it to be the FAA Challenger 601 N86, c/n 5167, I guess in for its annual calibration run in the deep south.
On Wednesday I did a practice "pie run" through Rangiora and picked up these two aircraft.
Above we have a new resident for NZRT - or at least it will be for some time.
Cessna U206F Stationair ZK-DXC (c/n 02986) has just been listed to Michael Scotter and is seen here in his fathers hangar. Previously a floatplane for many years on Lakes Rotorua and Taupo.
Below is the Fiona James, Forest Field based, Robin R.1180 TD Aiglon ZK-TZW (c/n 263).

  1. ZK-NGK as c/n 28742?
    I have that c/n as ZK-FRE and 'NGK as 737-3K2 c/n 26318.

  2. You are correct there flyernzl.
C/n 28742 was originally pencilled in to be ZK-NGK - but became ZK-FRE instead.
    C/n 26318 did indeed become ZK-NGK.
My error - I failed to read far enough into my notes and took the first c/n that I came to.
    Well spotted.
