We have had quite a few new first-of-type sport aircraft registered in New Zealand recently.
Our first Zenair CH 801 STOL (c/n 801-141) was registered ZK-PIP on 4/8/14 to Addis Holdings (Brent Addis) of Papakura. It is ex OE-KWJ and it was imported from Austria. The CH-801 was developed from the two seat CH 701 but it is a four seater aircraft powered by a 180 HP O-360 Lycoming engine. It will be great to see what it is capable of in STOL competitions.
This is our fourth PIP - if this goes on we will have enough for an apple corps!
Another view of Lancair ES ZK-EDZ following from Mike Condon's post, showing the lines a little better. It wears ZK marks which I guess could be for trans oceanic flights which it is very ca[pable of. I understand it is likely to be based at Whenuapai.
