Last Thursday I had cause to fly down to Matamata,
For those not in the know, this large grass field is just a short distance away as the crow flies from Hamilton and therefore much favoured by the Waikato locals when Hamilton Airport gettes a tad too busy.
A quiet day when I was there, but two interesting aircraft were active.
Seawind 3000 ZK-SWK has been Wellington-owned since 2000, but in March this year was sold to an Australian resident. However, it has not yet departed these shores. The Seawind carried out several circuits at Matamata before departing for destination unknown.
ZK-MSA is one of the country's steadily growing fleet of Tecnam P2008s.
It was registered to the Middle Earth Flying School Ltd. in March 2013 and is based at the field.
A nice looking machine.
