Arriving at its new home of Nelson on the evening of 18 November was Garden City Helicopters/Flying Doctor Beech C90A King Air ZK-FDN. The aircraft was placed on the register back on 23 September whilst in pre-delivery maintenance at Hamilton where it arrived on 23 August as N699TT at the conclusion of its delivery flight from the USA where it left from Merced and staged via Honolulu, Pago Pago and Auckland.
After carrying out an instrument approach and touch and go at Nelson the King Air continued south to Christchurch.
It is understood ZK-FDN will in time replace Cessna 421 ZK-KBF.
The arrival of the King Air coincides with the arrival earlier this week of a new helicopter for Garden City to be based at Nelson, BK117 ZK-IMN. http://nzcivair.blogspot.com/2011/11/garden-city-bk117-zk-imn.html
