The fourth edition of the registration ZK-HUM was outside Heliflite today in the form of a Robinson R44 II in preparation for its delivery to Gisborne. The interesting looking machine in the background is Western Australia based Pilatus PC12 VH-OOI visiting the avionics team.
An aeroplane I haven't seem for many years is the Thorp T18 ZK-EDF registered to a West Auckland address for the last couple of years.
From what I understand, Venom ZK-VNM is yet to carry out a test flight following its decade (?) of storage at Ardmore. It is being prepared for delivery to its new owners in Wanganui.
The Thorp ZK-EDF is based at Whenuapai. The owner, Kevin Foster, flew it across to Australia and back via Norfolk Island a couple of years ago.
ReplyDeleteEarlier this year it underwent a rebuild and a new paintscheme.
Thanks Peter. I had not seen it since 1991 in Motueka and Nelson.
ReplyDeleteHave also just found the Tasman journey records I have for it:
01JUL08 Whenuapai-Norfolk Island
02JUL08 Norfolk Island-Coolangatta
