Amuri Helicopters AS350BA ZK-HJM

I got a pic yesterday of the "new" Amuri Helicopters AS350BA ZK-HJM/4.
c/n 1671, sitting outside its hangar near Hanmer.

Can anyone tell me exactly what an AS350 FX is ? (as seen on the tail boon).

  1. AS350FX is an upgraded AS350BA or B2. Upgraded powerplant, electrics etc. Better performance especially at high altitude/heavy weight.

  2. Thanks NZAV8A.
Is the "FX" an official Aerospatiale/Eurocopter designation then ?

  4. HJM was upgraded by Oceania Aviation in AKL, don't think the upgrade is available ex factory

  5. From my understanding, the conversion kit comes from a crowd called Heli-Lynx (Canadian?), and the airframe is re-engined with a Honeywell LTS101-700 to deliver the benefits noted above. Seems unlikely that Eurocopter are particularly happy, but I note that Heli-Lynx have sold 10 kits into Australia this month.
