2016 - LVG C VI Coming to Masterton

As 2016 dawns, an amazing aircraft is heading our way in the form of a Luft-Verkehrs-Gesselschaft (LVG) Model C VI.  This German 2 seater reconnaissance and spotting aircraft was introduced late in WW 1, and is the only flying example in the world.  It surely will be something to see!

The aircraft has been built for The Vintage Aviator over a period of many years by the Memorial Flight Assocation of France (http://memorial.flight.free.fr/LVGuk.html ), and the terrific photo above is from their website.

16th birthday solo x 16.

On January the 2nd 2016 Rangitata Island Airfield saw a large gathering of family and friends celebrating the 16th birthday of young resident aviator Ross Brodie.
Ross went solo in 16 different aircraft throughout the day under the watchful eyes of instructors, dad Russell Brodie, Andrew Love, Matt White, Les Vincent and Ryan Southam.
